Jess Crawford is a certified trichologist in Karratha, Western Australia. Trichology is the study of the hair and scalp: why they are behaving the way they are, and what can be done to support them. In regional WA it is rare to find a trichologist at all.
Common reasons people come in
- More shedding than usual, or hair that feels thinner
- A widening part or thinning at the crown
- Flaking, itch, oiliness or a scalp that feels tight and dry
- Sensitivity or tenderness
- Breakage and hair that won’t grow past a certain length
- Scalp strain from hard hats and long rosters — the hard hat problem
What happens in a consultation
Your story, a close look at the scalp and hair, what Jess sees explained plainly, and a plan. That might be changes to how you care for your scalp at home, a series of in-atelier rituals, or a recommendation to see your GP for blood work first.
One room. One practitioner. Always Jess.
Where to start
The Consultazione Botanica is a thirty-minute first appointment ($50). It is the easiest way to find out what is going on and whether a ritual or a referral is the right next step. Read more: what a trichologist actually does.
Trichology is not a medical specialty and does not diagnose or treat disease. For sudden, patchy or painful hair loss, or any change you are worried about, please see your GP or a dermatologist.
